Inspiration for my work flows from many sources. Found imagery, words, emotions, anything. Everything ends up in my sketchbook, pasted in, collaged, noted. I like to make connections between things that aren’t obviously connected. I seek out a place for myself in other identities. I create my own tribe of hybrids. I am most excited when the work tells me what to do in the process of creating it. Where I begin with a piece is hardly ever where I end up. It’s like the work and I reach a mutual understanding eventually, and I learn something unexpected.
